STRONGER IT TIES SOUGHT WITH JAPAN
The Vietnamese leader highlighted developments in bilateral ties, particularly a three-fold increase in two-way trade from a decade ago to nearly US$30 billion today and hopefully $50 billion by 2020.
Hatoyama, who is on a visit to attend the Viet Nam Information and Communications Technology Summit in Ha Noi, said Japan was willing to share IT experience with Viet Nam, especially its applications in agriculture, fisheries, transport, smart city building, e-government and e-customs.
He pledged to help Viet Nam take IT into farming, fisheries and enterprises and revealed that he would lead several business delegations to Viet Nam to find co-operation opportunities this year.
The guest added that he would also foster bilateral collaboration in labour, vocational training and sports.
